As part of its ongoing national and international programming, “Art Mumbai Gateway” proudly announces its first ever events calendar in London, the city with one of the best art ecosystems in in world. As part of the year-round programme “Art Mumbai Gateway”, London includes VIP walkthroughs, special previews and private viewings at some of the UK capital’s leading galleries.
From June 12th to 21st, Art Mumbai will conduct this programme in collaboration with museums and galleries such as Tate Modern, Victoria & Albert Museum, Camden Arts Centre, Frith Street Gallery, Jhaveri Contemporary, Grosvenor Gallery, Ben Brown Fine Arts and others.
Some of the key highlights of the Art Mumbai Gateway, London calendar are:
· A walkthrough and tour of galleries in St James’s by Art Mumbai co-founder Conor Macklin
· Before hours viewing of ‘'Expressionists: Kandinsky, Munter and the Blue Rider' at the Tate Modern
· Access to the London preview of the Saffronart Summer Online Auction at the Saffronart Gallery, London
· A walkthrough of Dayanita Singh at Frith Street Gallery and ‘Architecture of Momentum’ by Rameshwar Broota at Vadehra Art Gallery, London
· Private viewing of Souza in Hampstead and a talk by Dr Elena Crippa, Curator of Contemporary Art, The Courtauld Gallery
· Guided walkthrough of ‘Tropical Modernism: Architecture and Independence’ at the V&A by curator Christopher Turner
· A shoe-fitting at Emmy London.
The shows are a selection of the best of South Asian contemporary art as well as post-colonial modernism and expressionist art. Opportunities such as the shoe fittings with Emmy London make this is a truly unique experience.
The first edition of Art Mumbai was held in Mumbai in November 2023. The collective experience of co-founders Minal Vazirani, Dinesh Vazirani, Nakul Dev Chawla and Conor Macklin, across different facets of the art ecosystem made Mumbai’s first art fair a truly holistic and all-encompassing experience.
