Subtle Luxury by Rohit Bhoite

Project: World Tower Residence – 61st Floor

Interior Design by: Rohit Bhoite
Client: Subhodh Mehra
Location: Mumbai, India

Perched on the 61st floor of the iconic World Tower, this residence designed by interior designer Rohit Bhoite is a personal retreat envisioned for Mr. Subhodh Mehra and his family — a couple in their early 70s, building their fifth home. With their parents still living with them, this project was more than just a design exercise — it was about creating a timeless, restful space where generations could co-exist in comfort and quiet luxury.

The brief was deceptively simple: a modern Indian home. Yet, behind that simplicity lay a deep sensitivity to material, culture, and memory. The result is a residence that embodies subtle luxury, rooted in Indian aesthetics while drawing from contemporary design sensibilities.

Rohit approached the project with a rich Indian palette, integrating hand-carved details, layered textures, and heritage-inspired finishes across every room — from bathrooms to ceiling mouldings, and custom furniture. Luxurious marble features heavily throughout the home, with intricate carvings and delicate inlays subtly guiding the eye across spaces.
